UPDATE on the LSBA Minority Fair

ATTENTION BLSA: BIDDING HAS BEEN EXTENDED!

Because of complications caused by the Fourth of July holiday, the deadline for student "bidding" for interviews has been extended to July 8th for the Louisiana State Bar Association Minority Involvement Section's job fair, scheduled for Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Southern University Law Center. The student brochure is available at the following link: http://www.lsba.org/lsbadocuments/317(1).pdf.

To bid for an employer, please log on to Symplicity (https://law-lsba-csm.symplicity.com/students) and (1) create an account if you don't have one or (2) update your profile (especially your class year), resume, and documents if you do. If your class year is incorrectly listed, you may not see the employers for which you are eligible to bid.For example, if you are listed as a 1L, you will see no employers because 1Ls cannot participate in this fair.

The last day to submit bids to receive invitations from interviewing employers or lottery-generated invitations is July 8, 2010. Please note that you cannot submit bids until you upload your resume and other documents that the employer requests. Most employers are requesting a copy of an unofficial transcript and a writing sample. Please act quickly to complete the registration process by uploading your documents no later than July 8! You will be able to register and create accounts after July 8 to visit information tables, participate in the resume books, and attend the networking luncheon.

Students attending the Fair are invited, free of charge, to attend the diversity networking luncheon from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Southern. Students will have the opportunity to network with employers, judges, and public officials regardless of whether they are formally interviewing.

Contact the Career Services Office of your law school or alma mater or Kelly McNeil Legier (kelly.legier@lsba.org; 504-619-0129) if you have questions or need additional information about registration or the bidding process.

If you are receiving a message that your account is disabled, trying verifying your email by clicking on the link contained in the email that should have come from Symplicity when you created your account. Sometimes this email can be found in your spam or junk email folder. If you continue to have problems logging on, please contact Kelly Legier.

We look forward to seeing you at the Fair.

Sincerely,

Kelly
